What happens if there is poor weather?

All cancellations must take place five days or more prior to the scheduled rental as stated in the Cancellation PolicyCancellations within five days prior to the rental start time are non-refundable. If poor weather is forecasted to occur during your rental period, Boatsetter can supersede the cancellation policy if the following extenuating circumstances occur:

  • Safety related cancellations stemming from the event of lightning, thunderstorms, heavy rain, or heavy wind within 8 hours or at the time the of the scheduled rental.
  • Natural disaster

Be sure to check with the boat owner on their cancellation flexibility if you think cancellation is going to be a possibility. If you wish to cancel within five days of your rental period due to poor forecasts, please discuss cancellation options with the boat owner.

If the owner agrees to bypass the cancellation policy, the owner must make the cancellation via the cancellation button found within the messaging thread. If the owner wishes to follow the cancellation policy in place, the rental amount will be nonrefundable. If the owner request you cancel the reservation within 5 days of the rental for weather, please provide written confirmation from the owner agreeing to this cancellation and we'll process a full refund.
