When you receive a booking request, a new notification will pop up in the top right corner of your home page. Simply click the notification or go straight to your Dashboard to view the message (pictured below).
Once you receive a booking request, you will have three options to choose from (pictured below):
- Approve - If you're comfortable with the renter and their experience, feel free to accept the booking.
- Decline - If the dates are unavailable, if you are unsure about the potential renter or if their boating experience doesn't fit your criteria, simply reject the booking. Once the booking has been "Declined", the renter will receive an automated message letting them know that your boat is no longer available.
- View Conversation - Instead of Approving/Declining the booking, this is your chance to ask more questions about the potential renters experience or their plans on the water.
If you don't respond to the booking request within seven days, Boatbound will expire the booking. We advise you to respond right away to facilitate a smooth and quick process.
As the boat owner, you decide whom to rent your boat to. However, if you approve a renter online, but in person feel they are not qualified to rent, please reach out to Boatbound Support. If the renter is not-qualified, we will contact the renter and decline the booking. However, to make sure instances like this don't happen, remember to exchange multiple messages with the potential renter prior to the requested rental date.
